Life Skills

 
 

All youth, in addition to academic course work, attend Life Skills classes weekly. Elements of the Life Skills Curriculum include:

Health
Health Education is provided by a Health & Physical Education teacher from the Xenia Community Schools. Sexual Education is presented by TCN Behavioral Health Services one week per month. Additional topics presented one week quarterly by the MVJRC Nurse include Smoke-Free Teens, Nutrition, and Hygiene.

Employability Skills
PACE Employability Skills Curriculum is presented by MVJRC Deputy Superintendent or designee. Topics include Using Labor Market Information, Making Career Decisions, and Filling Out an Application.

Character Development
Moral, ethical and personal development issues are explored via Law-Related Education; Art Expression, Video Presentations and Group Activities.
